Reducing & Mitigating EU Cities CO2

What’s the role of testing innovative urban solutions for climate change adaptation and mitigation in cities? European cities occupy 4% of the EU area, host 75% of its population, consume an increasingly high quantity of energy and produce more than 70% of CO2 emissions. Is it possible to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate their effects while more energy is needed? Can innovative solutions help effective urban planning? “100 Climate Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030” committed to be carbon neutral. The EU project CLIMABOROUGH supports selected cities’ ambition in their transition “from waste to circularity” and “from isolated energy and mobility systems to integrated services”. This includes innovative technology development, testing and adoption of climate oriented path-breaking innovations, along with services including policy expertise, legal, administrative and spatial planning. The AdWisers expertise has been selected as strategic one to assist the project and its advisory board in this pioneering and cross-European project.
